Most cancers are very sensitive to radiation upon its initial use. Where it is used in 1st line patients during initial chemo in an attempt to make the primary tumor operable. However, the surviving cancer cells become quite resistant to radiation. That resistance would carry though to 2nd line patients. Currently 5-FU + radiation is not the standard of care for 2nd line patients. Yet something else for the FDA to ponder about the wonderful IND.
