I was thinking exactly the opposite. If you were paying attention to the tape over the last few weeks a myriad of 149 share orders were printing all day for 2 to 3 weeks. If the reverse split has been canceled those prints may explain a short cover imo.

Market makers are allowed to short shares to create a market at Lower increments below

It is not indicative of insiders selling.

Of course who would really know if those orders are hidden.
