The red flag to me is the reason they gave for not doing the interim (having to pause enrollment). My guess would be they are concerned enough about the p value at 150 that they want to go to full enrollment to increase the odds of success. If the 12 Mayo patients were as successful as suggested in the study, a sample size of 150 should produce eye popping numbers.
