Ever watch the show Gold Rush on the Discovery channel? If you have, you'll know who Parker Schnabel is...after his mining season is over in Alaska he travels around the world in his off season filming a show with the Discovery channel called parkers trail. Last year he went to Papua New Guinea. Says it's some of the best gold ground he's ever seen. In the second video, towards the end, he said the ground they were working on in PNG is 10 times richer than the land they work in Alaska.

Here is the last episode of the show, it's worth watching if you want to get a better idea of what gold mining is like in PNG, and will also give you an idea of just how valuable it is to have a guy like Vincent Appo running the operations in PNG for DLCR. Mr. Appo is a PNG native, lives in Port Moresby, has a degree in technology majoring in surveying, and has managed and operated a historical mine in Papua New Guinea in charge of over 600 workers and 100+ contractors at the Tolukuma Mine. He'll understand the local landowners better than anyone because he's one of them, he speaks their language. The locals will tell him where the gold is and he will blaze his roads through the PNG jungle to find the sources of the gold, the viens. The logs will bring in big money, and be a great business, but this man has the gold bug, and will not stop looking for it until he finds it, and will know exactly what to do when he does. I have reason to believe he already has. We'll see soon enough. I've been watching the PNG Mining Cadastre Portal like a hawk because I think something very interesting will pop up on it soon.

Also, they say that pterodactyl's locally known as the Ropen survived the extinction event and still live in the mountains and jungles of PNG, Iguanodons too, and giant 3 foot rats that will eat small children if left unattended. Spoopy stuff...makes me want to go there in search of a giant Ropen...and gold.
