Look into "SEC Rule 144". You may need to pay some money to a broker which specializes removing restrictions on stock.
The conventional wisdom is anyone who's held restricted shares for a year are eligible to have them unrestricted.
I don't know if HDUP must approve the restriction removal or not... but... if you've been a long term investor there's no ethical reason they should refuse.
Apparently not, I've had them for several years and have tried several times to sell them.
We got them when Apple Rush was spun off from Rushnet.
I called the broker and they couldn't tell me why I can't sell except that they are restricted.
