why are Divvies so important when pps can outperform XOM divvies???

they are important to people who would rather sit around and do nothing all day, mostly those who have purchased their escape from the daily grind, either due to having worked in the postwar golden era and saved while it was still possible to do that; or thanks to the privileges of inherited wealth.
