Those were forward splits. They created more shares and divided the price of existing shares accordingly with SEC approval. They rarely have a large effect on trading activity.

Reverse splits create a condition were the bottom is gone, and investors will typically sell until a new bottom is created, so if you owned the stock when the reverse occurred, you will lose money unless you sell immediately.
