Everything seems to be coming to a head as we speak, even though Congress is still on break
I don’t have anything to link to, because I can’t link to chatter I’m hearing in DC, but there is increasing momentum for the following:
2 separate CBD Legalization bills to be introduced soon, 1 for supplements and 1 for foods/beverages
THC appears to be excluded in both bills due to safety issues, so the Full Spectrum formulation is OUT — no surprise there
CBD Isolate is IN, no surprise there either
Broad Spectrum is where the real debate lies at this point, it may or may not be included
Strong desire to pass in September in stimulus or federal funding bill
We may see these bills filed before attachment to one of the omnibus bills in order to build support and for politicians to “take credit”
That’s all I’ve got for now — Senate resumes session next week, so that’s probably the earliest we might see any new legislation filed
