I think that you will find this article in The Economist to be very much on point. For example, the “Excess Deaths” over historical norms in the US for the period of March 7 - July 31 was 214,812. The deaths attributed to Covid-19 for that period is only 152,611. That is 62,201 additional “Excess Deaths” that were not attributed to Covid-19.
