I think that you will find this article in The Economist to be very much on point. For example, the “Excess Deaths” over historical norms in the US for the period of March 7 - July 31 was 214,812. The deaths attributed to Covid-19 for that period is only 152,611. That is 62,201 additional “Excess Deaths” that were not attributed to Covid-19. Certainly many people have died as a result of Covid 19 who might otherwise still be alive, but the counts include, in some jurisdictions, someone killed by other means but who also tested positive for Covid. I know for certain this has been done. Was it many, or few? Who knows at this point since things are so convoluted anymore. Maybe there are 200,000 deaths and maybe there are only 130,000. At some point, a year from now or longer, a proper analysis will be made and we’ll have a better idea.
