The actual positive effects of a Golden Cross come after the actual Cross happens...

When the 50ma bellies on its way to the cross is when the strong move is made not on the actual cross itself...

But the bigger effect and why it is a solid and strong indicator for a move up is it prepares all the moving averages to set up in a numerical fashion and that is the set up for a bigger move up...once the 100ma follows the 50ma and crosses the 200ma as well...

The dips come as a healthy dip because the PPS will test the slower moving averages...once they are all tested is when the reverse starts its plight as it stretches the lower bollinger band south building a bottom...and allowing the room for a bigger move in between the bands...

This sends the Chart to an oversold position and the buyers will start to buy in...Psar will flip to a Bullish Buy Position as the PPS will go up and the Psar will come down to meet one and other...

So YES the Golden Cross in most cases is a strong positive indicator...
