I think Mcnally thought he was very close until Zaring came along and threw a curve ball with MDT buying out Digital Surgery,and getting Cambridge Design involved.Zaring convinced or persuaded McNally to make the custom 21st state of the art improvement from mostly what was coming available as well as Surgeons input....

I'm sure whatever it is it will the best technology up to date as well as most bang for the buck. Think of the old phones versus the newest.
