New York Times review on Molekule.

According to what I've read, only UV-C kills the virus.....I'm digging into this deeper. However, if my assumption is correct, than I believe the NY Times review about their equipment not passing grade has merit. What I'm also reviewing is if the equipment has been upgraded since the February review.

Now, you may ask, why take the time?
Because if I find out the email below is a false statement and this company is telling customers that UV-C is bad, and VYST is marketing a UV-C equipment, I'd think the company would want to know.

I got this email back from them:

Hello (Dropped),

Thank you for reaching out to Molekule. I apologize for the delayed response. I understand your concern about wanting to know more about Molekule Air. I'd be happy to assist you today.

UV-C light has a higher frequency than UV-A light and thus transfers more energy when absorbed by matter. Unlike UV-A, UV-C light has enough energy to change the chemical composition of many substances, including DNA. Many purification systems use UV-C (germicidal UV), which is not only unsafe to see, but can create ozone (a lung irritant) from oxygen in the air and is only good for disinfecting surfaces. We, on the other hand, use UV-A light in combination with our PECO-coating (which is coated onto our filter surface). Our technology uses a proprietary process, photoelectrochemical oxidation (PECO), which has been shown in extensive testing to perform better than UV-C, UV-A, or even older generation photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) system.

Molekule's new medical-grade air purifier, Air Pro RX, has recently received 510(k) class II medical device clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Molekule devices meet the performance criteria recommended by the FDA guidelines for use in reducing exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in healthcare settings. This air purifier is intended for medical purposes to destroy bacteria and viruses in the air and is well-suited for use in operating rooms, emergency department waiting rooms, isolation units, and any critical or high-traffic area in healthcare facilities to provide additional frontline protection. The FDA 510(k) medical device clearance comes in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, in which the potential of airborne viruses are becoming of increasing concern.

PECO technology in every Molekule purifier meets the rigorous performance criteria outlined in FDA guidance for use in helping to destroy SARS-CoV-2, the COVID-19 virus.
