OT - On a solemn note and much more important than this stock...
My poor Dad is not doing well.
He has been suffering from Alzheimer's disease the past few years,
and now he has taken a turn for the worse.
He's 82 and I think he's had enough of the suffering now.
He can't speak anymore (he lost that ability a while ago),
and now he's lost the ability to eat or drink (he can't swallow)
so he has lost 12 pounds the past week in what is already a
very fragile situation for him.
He is bedridden now and is too weak to sit up.
The doctor says, without taking in any food substance or fluids,
he may only have a matter of 3 to 5 days left.
I'm in California and he is in a nursing home in Michigan.
I've booked a flight to Michigan for Christmas Eve
so I can arrive to be by my Dad's side on Christmas Day
and into next week.
To all of you of faith here, please say a hopeful prayer
for my Dad, that he be spared any further suffering
and his last days are with filled with peace.
His name is George.
Please pray for my Mother Mildred too, that she finds comfort.
They have been married for almost 65 years.
