We know Simon says they are bidding on it. We know all other bidders were wanting to stay confidential. Looks to me like Simon released the last news to make Amazon want to back out of bidding. Amazon would have no reason to be working with Simon when they could purchase it themselves. That whole fake news story was probably meant to try to get Amazon out of the bidding by exposing them as a potential bidder.
