Agreed, for my own strategy, the point actually is, that he wouldn't spend the money until he has the candidate, as is far enough along in the negotiations, to warrant that expense. Not that it is hard, or easy, to do.

Being led around by people who tell you what you want to hear, is not only dangerous, it's not much of a trading strategy.
