Thanks rubberworm for this link. It is a VERY interesting read.

Most people I know have no clue about the material needs and therefore the mining and processing activities required (estimated in the hundreds of percent increase above current activities) that the low carbon energy methods require. It would be interesting to see an analysis of the energy and environmental requirements to meet the material needs versus the proposed low carbon benefits.
