U.S. Equity News: Boeing Gets $30.5M Navy Deal and Lockheed Martin Buys Management Systems

(NYSE:BA) and a unit of Textron Inc., to provide work on the MV-22 helicopter program. The pact, granted to the Patuxent River, Md., Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, will provide flight test management, engineering, design and efforts to support the MV-22 helicopter flight program. Defense contractor Raytheon Co. (NYSE:RTN) said Thursday it got a $12.5 million contract modification from the Naval Sea Systems Command to repair and provide maintenance services on heavyweight torpedoes. The pact, granted to Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems unit, will provide technical engineering, repair and maintenance services for the MK48 advanced capability heavyweight torpedo.

Military contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE:LMT) said Thursday it agreed to acquire Fairfax, Va.-based Management Systems Designers Inc. for undisclosed terms. MDS, which has more than 600 employees, is a provider of information technology, primarily for government agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense. Emergency Disaster Systems, a subsidiary of U.S. BioDefense (OTC BB: UBDE), announces that it will be exhibiting at and attending the International Association of Emergency Managers' 2006 Annual Conference in conjunction with the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Expo (www.emex.org) in Orlando, Florida November 12th through the 15th.
