Monroe1, I'm sure you understood this but, just so that others are clear in this headline statement:

FDA commissioner: No matter what, only a safe, effective vaccine will get our approval

This DID NOT say that the only drug that they will approve will be a vaccine that is safe and effective. It said the only VACCINE....

I think though that it's safe to say that if the FDA applies the same logic to any therapeutic drug AND assuming that Leronlimab is BOTH safe and effective that we can extrapolate that it will also be approved.

We already know it's safe and by the reduction of SAEs in the non-placebo arm of the trial, the hypothesis is that it's also effective.
