Yes it is. What you said is going to happen. They used to keep track of of the US dollar with with the M1, M2, M3 & M4.

In 2003 they quit tracking the M3. I believe that was the category that showed how much money was being printed.

That’s when I started buying gold coins. Paid $367 for my first 12 ounces. Bought every month for 2 1/2 years. Owed the GLD since 2005.
