(IMO), The only "interest" that can move any stock (up or down) is, MM's regardless with or without news PR's or financials. Once the stock starts moving, the masses jump in (market emotion) and are fed the stock, as it is moved up, up and up from those who want to pay the higher prices.

(IMO), It works the same when someone wants the price to fall. They simply just withhold their purchases, and (market emotion) sets in and the masses start selling at lower, lower, lower prices, because they believe the stock price could go even lower. Rationalizing it could go even lower, they sell try to cut their losses. I can't prove any of this, it's just my opinion from past selling experiences and market observations.

(IMO), The MM's have to be in controlling interest of the majority of the shares to move the stock in the direction you are suggesting. It's that simple. I could be wrong, but like I said, that's my opinion. (Market emotion works both ways). Buyers and sellers are also involved, but in my opinion, who set off the buying and selling? That's the (2) million dollar question!
