Fauci didn't "push" Remdesivir. The New England Journal of Medicine reported the findings of an extensive trial/ study showing Efficacy. Cytodyn, a year later has only safety to show.... not efficacy.
Having no other drug or therapeutic at the time that came close he reported it when asked.
He's not going to become a poster boy for Cytodyn as you'd wish.
