What sounds strange to me is, someone saying the company changes their name frequently, but the company has no history of name changes for a decade+.

One name change in all that time does not constitute "frequently".

Sorry to hear about your local medical facility changing names. Are they a penny stock? How frequently have they changed their name in the last 10 years? For comparison purposes of course.
