Ameritrade has a counter on the home page that tells you how many day trades you have made...I believe that they call it "round trips"...it will tell you like..."2 round trips in last 5 days"

and it of course resets accordingly...

they consider it a round trip when:

you buy and sell the same stock in the same day

you sell a stock and then buy back in in the same day
