Yes in a margin account.. u would be correct.... in a cash account, if i sell a position it will take 3days for the money to ''settle'' it will show up in my account... but these funds are unsettled.... I can buy with unsettled funds... however I must hold the new position for at least 3 day... or the brookerage will flag me as a freerider!!!!
