John 11:25---"Jesus said to her , I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."
Then over in Paul's Epistle "Ephesians" he writes in chap. 2--"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God....not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works, which God prepared before hand, that we should walk in them."
Just a passing thought here...a lot of folks think it is their good works that will land them in heaven---but---we are offered a free gift of God's grace which comes by our faith....our requirement is to "believe"......Remember the thief on the cross while dying said to Jesus "remember me when You come into paradise"---He was not a church member, he had not done a lot of good works, he had not been baptized nor given a lot of money....He believed Jesus was the Son of God....then Jesus told the thief that he would be in paradise with Him...OH!! I don't suggest anyone wait until the last moments of life to believe, seeing as how no-one knows when that last minute will be......
