Starting at around 12 minutes in, give or take, you will hear Dr Patterson discuss the following:

“Well, you can sit there and say I’m gonna use an IL-6 inhibitor or a receptor antagonist or I can use a GNCSF antagonist, I’m gonna use a TFN-alpha antagonist and come up with a cocktail of about seventeen different drugs or…you know, you can accept the fact that this is a RANTES disease, in so far as RANTES is the quarterback of all these findings that are popping up. And, again, I’m sure there’s other things at play, there’s no doubt about it. But, the success with which these patients are recovering (after being treated with Leronlimab)…26 out of 28 patients in the UCLA cohort, again under emergency use, all getting better, and 26 out of 28 and all the cohorts across the United States under emergency use.

“The two most dramatic are the patients who have come off of ECMO, for essentially life support, and to me, you know, patients coming off life support? Anecdotes don’t come off life support, right?!

“But the fact is if you have two people who are on ECMO get better and are either in rehab or discharged from the hospital, and to me, being a pathologist for almost 30 years now, you have to have some common sense and say these people, they were failing on all the other drugs—they were 30 days plus on ECMO in the ICU. They had no other options. They were given Leronlimab, and the patient in San Jose was off ECMO in 3 days and actually just celebrated Mother’s Day with her daughter with hugs and in person at a rehab hospital. I mean, those are the gripping tales that we’re hearing. And like I said, we’re gonna do all the right things and do the trials with placebo controls.

“But you know what? Common sense just tells you these people were headed for a one-way street, and we changed the course of their disease. Take it for what it is, but that’s the thing that keeps me working all day and all night towards getting a solution to this disease.”
