While I agree with what you're saying, people forget Trump dismissed the pandemic staff. I suspect that if that staff had remained they would have seen what was happening in China in December. They would have seen to it that we have plenty of PPE and we'd have worked with allies months earlier on testing. I also wish the deaths would only be 150K, I suspect that we'll go well over 200K, and perhaps even over 300K by the end of the year.

I was at the Dr. today and missed much of the news, I gather that Trump once again was pushing opening things up. That's what he did wrong in the first place, now he's doubling down on doing it, sending kids to school, etc. I think if Covid had been properly handled from back in December, when the pandemic team would have learned about it, and it had been handled properly from the beginning, I doubt we'd have 50K deaths, and we could be largely opening places up safely. With millions infected, until they're no longer infectious, opening up is just asking for millions more to get the disease. I think you're being generous in only holding Trump accountable for 50% of the deaths. Being No. 1 in infections and deaths is not what I call making America great again.
