Ok I’ll play. Why do companies have shareholders? They sell their company to the public in tiny percentages and agree to allow some input by way of votes on issues from people who agree to give them small individual amounts of $$$ that together give the company a large amount of money to do business with. They do not sell me a share or ten million shares of the company they have built and are turning into a profit producer with the expectation that I will immediately begin to tell them how to run the said company when I really have only minimal clues as to what they are planning, have done, and are doing.
