The other day then again this morning I reviewed the 10 commandments----I encourage y'all to take a few moments and look them up (Ex. 20:) , then looking at each commandment, one at a time, take a moment on each and ask yourself if today mankind has really twisted stuff around so much as to totally water down these commandments. Just as an example----#1---you shall have no other gods before me---well that is so simple no one can break that one, but then thinking on it, how many things in our lives have we put before God----career, bank account, entertainment, etc, etc, etc-----I think you get my point here, now take each commandment and think on it a bit and how this fits into our world today. Then I thought the jewel of them all was the last one ---Thou shall not covet----meaning UNJUST GAIN---Thinking on this commandment we see that through Coveting we can easily break many of the other commandments. The bad thing with coveting is not one wanting to improve one's life, it is the desire to take from someone else to improve one's life, the desire to get something one wants which can lead to stealing, to murder, to putting God on hold, to disown our parents, to lie & cheat......Once again you see my point. I wonder if the real amazing thing about "COVET" is that how mankind did and still now believes that certain things are OK as long as I get what I want. I suppose self-confession might be due here....or maybe explain my understanding......I wish that years & years ago I had understood the real meaning & damage of COVETING----Then I wonder if our churches are really missing a BIG teaching point here. Maybe we as parents and grand-parents need to polish up our teaching practices.......Live so others can see the Christian Faith in us-----OH! Reckon that means --set the example---God Bless
