Yes a lot not being discussed in regards to humanitarian crisis that has arisen from 'sealing' off of the population. No water, no lights, no food, no money. UN barred from entry.
a couple links to recent events

Iran and Saudis of course offered to give new gov't funding but Isreal has prevented this as much as possible. But since Hezbullah 'victory' the palestinians have been receiving the weapons and tactics of their 'comrades' from both syria and iran (compliments of russia arms industry). This is what Iran means when they say Israel is done. They have created so much anger with their actions that no peace can now exist. The anger is widespread regionally and this genie aint going back into the bottle. The western friendly gov'ts of the region now see the groundswell from below and recognize fact their kingdoms will tumble if they continue to 'go along' with such genocide.

So hezbullah rearmed, syrian recently in Russia getting moe arms with Iranian cash and outfitting their army with rocket propelled grenades and the like that were so effective in Lebanon, now palestine the same, so three fronts that will act together when the time comes. Hence the further buildup in Gulf by US forces by a President who rejects the Baker report and has his own ideas.
Russia definitely not on US side here and Putin is furious with Bush for bankrolling Isreali offensive against lebanon and hence there recent open arming of Syria with weaponry.

"Russia has sold more weapons than the U.S. in 2005, first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union. In 2005 Russia surpassed U.S.A. and France in weapons sales, which totaled $7.1 billion. The United Stated had dominated the highly competitive market of the conventional arms sales since the collapse of the USSR "

"Reports from the Kremlin today are portraying President Putin as being 'furious' with the American War Leader Bush over his breaking of a promise to the Russian President to not provide US funding to the Israelis for their Lebanese War. Less than 3 weeks after making this promise the United States used a little known provision in their security agreements with Israel to fully pay for the war, and as we can read as reported by Israel's Ynet News Service in their article titled "US to double emergency equipment stored in Israel", and which says: "

A wider war is inevitable imo, and soon. Isreal feels itself in a corner and that aint a good thing. Would not be surprised at all by a false flag operation to get the ball rolling. It must be soon as each day brings more arms to Syria, Iran etc..

Hence my interest in oil and gold.
