You are correct, winter is not a problem
In Nebraska a lot of construction takes place year round. In some years weather is bad enough that there is a couple months where activity is limited ( not stopped, but limited.) We also need to keep in mind what will be done when. We have all seen the CAPEX cash flow chart. Scott has said the big spike in MONTH 5 is when we buy the land. If the BIG F happens this month, the land gets purchased in December. How much work do we think will be done on land that we don’t own? Some portions of the land are heavily timbered. There is probably a couple months of tree felling and grading. This work can be done year round or very close to it. Surveying can certainly be done year round. Maybe 15-20 freeze holes must be drilled around each of the two shafts. I had an new well drilled at my house. It is 200 feet deep and drilling took 2 days. It was drilled throughly relatively soft material. These freeze holes will be 2000 ft and a lot of that is through granite. I doubt there is room for more than two drill rigs on each shaft. It is not unheard off to erect temporary shelters. Something could be arranged to allow drills to operate year round. A company near my house manufactures material specifically for temporary construction shelters.
