It was mostly blue.

Azurite blue? Chrysocolla blue? Those would be quite obvious copper oxides but unlikely to see those in Alaska except in the top few feet of a copper deposit.

Or a blue color a little more subtle - maybe like a gneiss or glaucophane schist, which can have a bluish tint?

Who said the blue color meant something good - JB? If so, did he specifically say it was due to copper? I understand he allowed investors to hand around a chunk of the core at a meeting.....I bet it was exciting to hold a chunk of the famous blue core!

No, it doesn't really matter, I guess. But chasing down the origin of myths is kind of fun. Especially one created by the master himself, JB.
