(IMO), I sure would like for those shares to be around. That is a lot of shares (money) for those future acquisitions of sizeable portions and profits!

(IMO), As a business owner I would prefer to purchase other companies with my own shares and repurchase them at a later date like Stan and Liz did with future profits as the business went along, than to do debentures to a finance company or banks and have to dance to their tune and time frames.

Buffett does it all the time and keeps billions in cash in the banks from those profitable companies. The cash is kept for just new acquisitions, stock repurchases to avoid paying dividends. In lieu of dividends, the PPS increases over time. This strategy works quite well! I know this for fact, because I own shares in his companies!
