Bob, >> Leronlimab PREVENTS the cytokine storm, so m/m cases do not progress <<

Yes, so the question is how long does it take for Covid to progress from mild/mod to severe? The mild/mod trial runs for 14 days, so it will have to be within that time frame. Also, what percentage of mild/mod Covid patients typically worsen and move into the severe stage? The vast majority don't, and showing statistically significant separation between Leronlimab and placebo may not be easy, especially in a small trial.

The odds with the severe trial should be considerably better, but there are numerous other drugs in development that also target the cytokine storm aspect (see below). GM-CSF (granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor) is the logical target, which is why there are 5 companies working on it -

>>> Company - Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals, I-Mab, Humanigen, Roivant Sciences Inc., Sanofi

Drug - Mavrilimumab, lenzilumab, others

Phase 2

To mitigate the complications of cytokine storm, companies are developing antibodies against human granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor or GM-CSF, a cytokine responsible for inflammation. Some of these medicines are also being developed for rheumatoid arthritis. <<<
