You are so spot on...you only have one mom. I am so sorry for your loss. I lived in a terminal cancer ward for 12 days, sleeping beside my mom as she passed at 59 years old. I got to see her take her last breath and it was so surreal, her bringing me into the world and I, thank God, got to be there when she passed out of this world. It sounds like your mom lived a very fruitful life. My mom was a typical Italian mom, who lived for all her kids far more than she lived for herself and then before she could enjoy her life, after raising her kids, she was gone far too soon. Lost my dad at 91 with the same ailment as your mom. I cannot imagine what you went through with your mom for that long a time but I know you cherish that time no matter how difficult. You are most definitely an 'old soul'.
