WRONG!!! Can you short otc stocks? There are two parts to the answer. 2) Reality - probably not. In order to sell short, you must be able to borrow the stock. Most OTC/pink stocks are impossible to borrow. The most popular online brokerages don't allow short selling otc pink stocks. Interactive Brokers has a percentage requirement or $2.50 per share, whichever is more. If you're shorting stocks that are around $1, you're paying more in fees than you would be for the position. Before you open an account at any brokerage, evaluate its fee structures.
