“Itolizumab inhibits CD6 which is a co receptor on the T cell. It’s a bit of a complex process but the idea is why inhibiting CD6, you prevent the development of Th1, Th17 ( type of T cells that make pro inflammatory cytokines). Really fascinating mechanism.

However I talked to Bruce and we were discussing some literature on CD6- and turns out anti CD6 drugs like itolizumab is described in the literature as also blocking RANTES.

So the big question is the real effect blocking CD6 or RANTES?”
