In Chap. 12 of 1st Corinthians Paul writes about love...then in verse 5 it goes like this---"Love does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil"
The notes on this verse explains---"the Greek work that translates the phrase "thinks no evil---means to think or take into account". It is a bookkeeping term that means to calculate, as if one is figuring an entry into a journal or a ledger. The purpose of entering numbers into a journal or ledger is to make a permanent record so that the person can go back later and consult the record. In business, the practice of accounting is necessary. In personal relationships, however, it is harmful. Literally, what the text is saying is, --Love does not keep a record of the wrong that is done to it.-----Resentment is writing down in the book of memory, or calculating, all the wrongs that have been done to us-----keeping track of them so that so that we may consult them sometime in the future for our own benefit . Agape Love is not resentful, it records no wrong for later reference."
After all the above, here in the notes is what we, most likely really need to store in our memory--if we learn to live it, it is powerful:
"Love forgives...It may not forget, but even when love remembers, it still forgives"
