Carbon credits business model -
Let's see if I understand the basics of how this may work.
Panamersa buys land - undeveloped land in the middle of nowhere - that might not even have any roads leading to it, no utilities, etc... - most likely has very little value compared to land in developed areas.
They could even register the land after that as a wildlife refuge, or whatever.
Then lease the land out by the square meter to companies who pollute more than their government allotment (any government mind you, not just the US - read Kyoto), so that the polluting companies can be compliant.
This provides Panamersa with a neverending and recurring income off of a property that was inexpensive in the first place.
No tenants (except the howler monkees), no problems with development, etc...
As long as the numbers work out, and the "green" politicians keep forcing the corporate world to pay their dues to the global warming fear mongerers - seems like a pretty nice income stream to add into the mix.
Am i way off, or can someone fill in some blanks or subtleties.
BTW - Thanks 4God for any time you can contribute.
