Basically this. The shareprice can be manipulated (both up and down, yes) with less than 500k shares, which equates to around $40,000 at the moment.

There are numerous people that could do this easily, myself included. Hell, there's only been a whopping 4 trading days this year where the total daily volume is more than what I own. This is why getting caught up in weekly price swings is pointless at this time.
