That depends if they were paid or not.

When somebody "spams" your email box, in all likelihood, they are being paid to do so.

"Hyping"...ok, you may have something there. Hyping to me is the publication of something for some sort of personal gain. Whether it's to have somebody come visit your site, click on your link or buy a stock you are stuck in so you can get out.

But, is posting a stock pick on several boards "Hyping"? Not necessarily. It could just as easily be the sharing of an idea or an opinion.
