MM's including $TTCM make their money selling fake shares at the ask and buying back to cover at the bid. The more they walk down the ask, in spite of ask slapping the more they create the illusion of selling (that is not real).
They make their money day trading with fake shares at the ask to drive volume and encourage flipping. They try to force buying at the ask by not selling to bids and by buying themselves at lowered bids to cover the fake short shares they.
Ever been the only bidder on dead stock and a sell did not fill your buy order, that was the only buy order?
That was MM's covering shorts or wash trading to make you raise your bid. They can legally do that.
It is legal fraud at its finest, and declared to be legal by Codified law to "make a market"
But they cheat and manipulate all the time, and rarely get caught. Here is proof the commit fraud and get caught some times.
