Yes. St. Jude provides a very valuable service to those with cancer. Both the patients and the families. Having a friend whose child has cancer and was treated at St. Jude successfully putting it in remission, I fully support St. Jude soliciting for donations. Cancer is an evil thing especially when it affects children ...and their families. A child with cancer is an emotional, physical, and financial drain on parents/families.

Understood that there is no "cure" for cancer - yet. But there are treatments that stop its progression which St. Jude is constantly perfecting. And yes, that costs money. Money that affected children's families don't have and has to come from somewhere.

For anyone wanting to donate to St. Jude:

I wonder if Jonas Salk said, "We'll NEVER find a cure for polio....I should just quit."

Or, Alexander Fleming said, "These darned infections killing everyone is too much to think about...I'll just quit."

Or Dr. Jonah Sacha said, "This HIV cure project is just taking too much time away from my fishing time, I'll just quit."

The human spirit is driven to succeed even in the most adverse of conditions no matter who says it can't be done....and even those who stand in the way. May God have mercy on their souls for standing in the way.
