It's a very different 4th. Many years ago we were traveling from Marina Del Rey to Channel Islands harbor in our sailboat, and we left before sunrise. I hadn't read about it, but Santa Monica, to avoid crowds at the beach decided to have their fireworks before dawn. It was spectacular being out there and seeing it, but it seemed to me that they were spending a lot of money for people not to enjoy it, of course there was no pandemic at the time. I suppose they could do that sort of thing today, but they could also have a bonfire fueled by dollars.

It's a very different world this year, hopefully by next 4th of July we can celebrate a more traditional 4th.

It's my hope that things are improving by Labor Day, and that football, with or without fans can start on time. It's still my favorite sport, but it sounds like the other major sports will be back in some way in the not too distant future. While I believe you can see most games better on TV, there is still something about being in the stands, and seeing games with no fans will really seem weird, but far better than no games at all. For now, golf is available both to most of us, and the pros are once again playing, and being televised.

Happy 4th,

Gary
