Wow---that was good.....I really dug into this, 3 different study Bibles, Strongs Book with every word in the Bible in it & meanings, and my Interpreter's Bible......Reading the whole Chap. 6, I like the way John MacArthur footnotes puts it....."Micah's terse response indicates they should have know the answer to the rhetorical question. Spiritual blindness has led them to offer everything except the one thing He wanted.----A spiritual commitment from the heart from which right behavior would ensue." --- My Dr. David Jeremiah footnotes also says "Mercy in the Hebrew includes the idea of loyalty and faithfulness to God's promises
Rather neat that in my older Bibles I had this passage hi-lited----Then I got to thinking what that meant to me, and I suppose I was thinking that if I was fair in my judging or decerning and if I lived with loving-kindness and walked in a humble way.....maybe I was on the right path.. I liked the article but couldn't grasp the misunderstood part. Now remember I am thick and often things come crystal clear later on.
I think maybe my point was yrs.ago when I hi-Lited this it was telling me what God wants from me.....
I really appreciate this, got the ole brain cranked up
