6 metric tons is NOT a lot of raw material. I don't know what all the complaining is about.
Metric Ton = 1,000 kilograms, or 2,204.6 pounds.
So they have tested 6.6138678 short tons (the standard tonage in the US is called a short ton and = 2000 pounds).
1 cubic yard (3ft x 3ft x 3ft) of dirt (average landscape mix with topsoil and some clay) weights approximated 1.5 short tons (or 3000 pounds).
SO....just how small of a sample is 6 metric tons? about 4.4 cubic yards. To put this in perspective for you, a small dumpster with the dimensions of 10ft x 8ft x 4.5ft is 10 cubic yards. So take a very small dumpster bin and fill it just under half full and you have 6 metric tons of dirt. Not alot.
So even if the original PR gold weight is correct, that is pretty damn good.
