According to Crowdfund Insider, there has been a recent increase in applications to become a FINRA regulated funding portal. Although just conjecture, we think it's a potentially interesting development in the crowdfunding ecosystem and it potentially showcases the growing interest in the online private markets.

The online private markets are becoming a legitimate means for early, growing, and even late-stage companies to raise capital, in turn providing individuals the potential for outsized returns.

Out of the current 54 FINRA regulated funding portals, only a handful of these portals host the majority of offerings. Perhaps we'll see a new portal join the cream of the crop? On our end, we have definitely seen an uptick in companies raising on funding portals that aren't the usual suspects. Either way, more potential competition is a good thing!
