As a physician and being involved in the care of Covid 19 patients she was mild. She admits to running, walking briskly around the building in the second video to get her O2 sat below 93%. I was surprised she was in a hospital for 3 days. Maybe we do not know the whole story. A sick patient with covid 19 would not be be walking briskly or running for any great length of time. Most can't get up to walk around a covid unit or even in their room when moderate or severe. At least where I am at we try to keep most patients home in self isolation, at home, when possible. Would have loved to have known her viral load. The time frame is odd as well. Seems she was sick at home for a week or more before being enrolled into the study. Also physical exercise to drop your O2 Sat in order to be enrolled or admitted may not be a good idea.
My big issue with the data in this patient, and remember I own the stock, is why was she hospitalized? If for no reason other than observation, how do we measure time to discharge in the study? I mean she really didn't have to be there. She had no real reason to be admitted, so how do measure her progression to dischrage? Her time to discharge will be inaccurate no matter she was placebo or actually given the study drug. Only if her O2 Sat of less than 92 was the reason for admit but not yet warranting O2 therapy does this make sense. Even then we send those patients home with a portable O2 Sat monitor which it looks like they eventually did with her. Check in with her daily and return if things get worse.
