The answer, Pete, is risk aversion.

You're asking me with no grant money (yet), if I would take $8B ($24/share) for my $135M ($0.46/share) company. The answer is yes.

I don't care if there was a theoretical $100/share dividend in your projection. $24/share means instant retirement and multi-generational wealth locked in with no risk for me. I would lock that in with no fear of what I missed out 100/100 times.

That's not to say that we can't get to the values you espouse. But there is uncertainty there.

I think if a big pharma came to Leo with that deal on Monday, he would cash out as a billionaire and never look back. Maybe he'd then form a new company and snatch up some of the indications for Brilacidin that we gave up.
