Daily Covid deaths have declined significantly recently. Some of it may be due to changes in cause of death reporting, but I think most of it is because they're treating the seriously ill more effectively despite no miracle drug treatment yet. No knock on medical providers but at the beginning I think they didn't know how to treat people and treatment was particularly ineffective. Also, I think older people are being more careful and are being better protected in nursing homes so their deaths aren't fueling the totals like they were. Of course, if new cases spike daily deaths could rise again, but I think the death rate will stay much lower than it was at the beginning.
